October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which means Chicago will be participating in its Pretty in Pink Fundraiser. The city is celebrating 31 days of $31 beauty deals. In order to treat the women of Chicago, spas and salons are offering beauty treatments at a great value.

This is just one of the many things to look for during the month of October. Over the next few weeks, pink is no longer just a color, but a symbol of the fight so many women go through. It’s a way to show support for family, friends, and the fight for a cure.

Businesses and individuals are showing their love, and even the NFL has joined in too! For every game played during the month of October, a special football with a pink ribbon will be used. Also, players will have the option to jazz up their uniforms by wearing pink sports gear during games.

If you’re looking to join in the fight against cancer, find out how you can get involved today. Check out the Susan G. Komen Foundation to read more.

Michigan Avenue is home to designer shops, world-class hotels, extravagant restaurants, endless entertainment, and so much more! If you’re visiting, and you’re there to shop, make sure Gucci, Bloomingdales, Michael Kors, and Marc Jacobs all make the list. But if sightseeing is what you want, better write down the John Hancock Center, Park Tower, and Olympia Centre. And don’t forget you can get the most delicious cuisine at Weber Grill, Phil Stephani’s 437 Rush, or The Signature Room at the 95th. There is something magnificent for everyone to enjoy on this avenue strip.

No trip to Chicago would be complete without a trip down Michigan Avenue. To check out all the magnificent attractions, be sure to check out the Magnificent Mile!

The Windy City is filled with great food, and amazing sights, but this one tops them all! Chicago’s Skydeck stands at an astonishing 1,353 feet. It is the tallest building in the western hemisphere, and was voted one of the 7 Wonders of Chicago by the Chicago Tribune Readers.

Once at the top, visitors are able to venture out onto the Ledge. This glass box extends out 4.3 feet from the skyscrapers 103rd floor! On a clear day, viewers can see up to 50 miles in all directions. The best time to visit is after 5 pm on a clear night. The twinkling night life and sunset are sure to take your breath away. It is said to also provide the best views of Chicago’s picturesque architecture.

Inside the tower, activities include interactive touch screens, history of the tower, museum exhibits of Chicago’s history, and cool highlights on the city’s biggest attractions. So even if the Ledge isn’t for you, there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy!
