If you can’t make it to Europe this summer, wouldn’t you at least want to stay at a hotel with European flair? Inspired by 19th century French Victorian décor, The Willows Hotel in Chicago is the epitome of a modern day European boutique hotel elegance.

Located in the heart of the exclusive Lincoln Park/Lakeview area, this Historical Landmark building is less than two blocks away from the scenic shores of Lake Michigan and just minutes away from everything else Chicago has to offer.

The Willows hosts a perfect stay for anyone needing a quiet and cozy retreat. The beautiful fireplace and overstuffed couches in the lobby, along with an extremely friendly staff, provide a warm welcome. Each of the hotel’s 55 rooms have a welcoming, French Country décor that is both rustic and relaxing—keeping in touch with a traditional European old-world inn, while featuring new-world amenities: complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access; luxury robes; and spacious workstations. The hotel also serves an elegant complimentary continental breakfast; coffee and tea service; afternoon cookies; and access to a nearby gym. Evening social hours are hosted daily, as well.

Built in 1923, The Willows Hotel is also rumored to rest atop underground tunnels used by for guest, Al Capone.

Whether it’s an upcoming leisure visit or a business trip, experience the charm of The Willows Hotel, and book a room today.

For those of you who frequent our Facebook page, you may have noticed the wonderful badge recently posted on our wall that identifies us as a proud member of the Central Lakeview Merchant Association. You may be wondering what CLMA is exactly , and why  Broughton Hotels is a proud member?

CLMA is an association of the various businesses in Central Lakeview. According to the CLMA website  “Central Lakeview Merchants Association’s (CLMA) primary goals are to stimulate the neighborhood’s economic growth, enhance its natural beauty, and promote it as a world-class tourist destination.”

It’s easy to see why we’re proud to be a member of CLMA. Central Lakeview, which is colloquially known as Wrigleyville, is a thriving business community, and CLMA is an essential part of developing the businesses in the area and making Lakeview a key part of the Windy City.

CLMA helps keep Central Lakeview the prosperous area that it is. They help provide resources to the various businesses that inhabit the area. If you have never been here, we strongly encourage you to come down to Wrigleyville and see what all the excitement is about. Central Lakeview definitely has something for everyone. Thanks for helping keep Central Lakeview Great CLMA

We recently put up a video on our YouTube channel featuring two of our most loyal guests describing their experiences staying with Broughton. The two personable Englishmen, Stewart and Graham, have come to visit Chicago and stayed in Broughton hotels 13 times.

They both commented on how much they enjoyed the city and had great things to say about their experience at Broughton Hotels. Stewart really appreciated that the staff treats you like a family member, describing the hotel as “very very friendly”. Graham liked the location near Wrigley field, because of his love of baseball.

While the description of their visits to Chicago ranged from their love of the baseball games to the fact that the city has many attractions to offer to the great location, they specifically spoke of Taste of Chicago and Millennium park, a major theme of their chat was their love for the people of Chicago, “The people here just can’t do enough for you” said Graham.

Thank you for staying with us for your past 13 visits Stewart and Graham, We look forward to helping you experience Chicago for years to come.

The Fourth of July is right around the corner, and although it is usually characterized by fireworks, overeating, parades and family get-togethers, it’s important to remember what the holiday is really about.

On Independence day we are celebrating the birth of our nation, the anniversary of the creation of the land of the free and the home of the brave!

In honor of the greatest country in the world, we here at Broughton Hotels of Chicago have decided to do our best to help support those who defend it.

Though it’s a small gesture, we believe that sending letters to the troops telling them how much we appreciate and support them can make a big difference. So give our young men and women overseas some love from home. Now through July 8th  we are collecting letters, cards and pictures to send to our troops.

On our Facebook page you can see an album of people who have already sent their messages! For more information on where to send your mail, check out the Help Support Our Troops tab.

Whether you’re just visiting Chicago for a few days or have lived here your whole life, chances are you haven’t seen all there is to see in this great city. It could be the hassle of planning your day simply seemed too daunting, or that you just don’t know where to look to find the Windy City’s best-kept secrets.

Well, fortunately, Daycations exists to do all of that for you. Each Daycation is centered around a particular neighborhood, allowing for the ultimate one-day adventure! Daycations is a self-guided exploration that maps out an itinerary, yet still empowers “Daycationers” to make choices and act on their impulses.  Truly a one-stop-vacation-shop, a Daycation includes interesting, unique, and local restaurants, retail shops, and architectural, historical, and recreational sights to see.

Explore the retailers, restaurants, and points of interests that are unique to the neighborhood. You won’t find box stores or big chain restaurants in any of our Daycations — only businesses indigenous to that neighborhood. Each Daycation also includes interesting facts and history to add to your knowledge of the area. Simply buy your Daycations, print it off, or put it on your mobile phone.

Daycations is Your Day. Your City. Planned.

Earlier this month, we asked the fans of Broughton Hotels of Chicago to brag about their moms.

Via Facebook, we asked our friends to post something (including—but not limited to—a story, picture, or video) on our Facebook page telling the world why their moms are so great.

What’s the catch, you ask?

There’s no catch. We just love moms. To celebrate the one day of the year where mothers across the country get the recognition they deserve, we offered a free two-night stay at one of the Broughton Hotels of Chicago and two free tickets to the Field Museum!

The winner of the contest was determined by the number of “likes” the post received on Facebook. The entry with the most votes by the time the contest ended on May 12th was submitted by Matthew Ausmann, whose post gathered 68 votes. Here’s what Matthew had to say about his mom:

My mom is Jesus’ homegirl. She makes the Dos Equis’ “Most Interesting Man in the World” seem like a boring idiot. The Angry Birds are angry because they’ve never met my mom. My mom is the one who bit the Apple logo. She knows several words that rhyme with “orange” and champions eat Wheaties because my mom once ate Wheaties.

Congratulations, Matthew! We at Broughton Hotels of Chicago wish your mom the happiest of Mother’s Days and safe travels to the Windy City.

The Cubs hit the diamond again today at 1:20 against the Rockies at Wrigley Field. Then it’s time to pack their bags and head to Arizona. The Cubs are currently 10-13 overall and 6-8 at home. It’s going to be a great season ahead, so be sure to get your tickets now!

We are currently offering a special Cubs Field of Dreams package that is great for any Cubs fan! All three of our hotels (The Majestic, City Suites, and the Willows) are within walking distance from Wrigley Field and will put you in the heart of the excitement! Our Cubs package includes a $50 gift certificate to use at Rockit Bar and Grill (right across from Wrigley Field) where you can chow down on some of the best grub around and make new friends with other Cub fans! Also, this package includes some great take-home memorabilia including a Cubs Teddy Bear, a 2011 autographed Cubs baseball, a Cubs koozie and a Cubs travel mug! These are great gifts for the ultimate Cubs fan, or keep them for yourself! This package is so amazing and won’t last long, so be sure to book yours today!
