Fall is such a beautiful season in Chicago! The temperatures are nearly perfect, fall produce is in its prime and there are still plenty of fun things to do outside—but not for much longer! For example, the Green City Market, Chicago’s year-round farmers market, will be held outdoors until October 27—after which it will move indoors to the Peggy Notebart Nature Museum.

According to its website, “Green City Market operates as Chicago’s only truly “green” farmer’s market supporting and promoting local, sustainable agricultural practices. The mission of the Green City Market is to provide a marketplace for purchasing sustainably grown food that educates, promotes and connects farmers and local producers directly to chefs, restaurateurs and the Greater Chicago community.”

The Chicago Green City Market outdoor season is located at the south end of Lincoln Park between Clark and Stockton Drive and runs every Wednesday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

So what are you waiting for? Embrace the bright fall foliage and sunshine, and stock up on all your local farmers produce, meats, breads, cheeses and sweets before the outdoor market season closes until next spring!

And don’t hike all over the city with all of your fresh fall produce! We’re in the neighborhood, so book a room with Broughton Hotels of Chicago  – City Suites Hotel, The Majestic Hotel or The Willows Hotel!

Just because you’ve found yourself in the middle of the concrete jungle of the Midwest doesn’t mean you can’t have your supply of fresh, high-quality, local produce. The Chicago City Green Market exists to ensure that Chicago’s visitors and residents have access to local, sustainable food through all four seasons of the year.

The Market, whose mission is to improve the availability of a diverse range of high quality foods by providing a marketplace for purchasing sustainably grown food and to educate, promote, and connect farmers and local producers directly to the greater Chicago community, has a weekly schedule to accommodate all twelve months of Chicago’s unpredictable weather:

Located just minutes from all three Broughton Hotels of Chicago, the market also supports small family farms and promote a healthier society through education and appreciation for local, fresh, sustainably-raised products. What’s not to like?
